Aiming to enrich the lives of residents through Art Therapy and in the theme of the Southern Printmakers Exhibition in the Moran Gallery, Sylvania. Moran Residents in the Sutherland Shire will have the opportunity to take part in workshops creating cards using stamping and pattern making. Using handmade stamps the workshops focus on creating pattern making using a simple printmaking method.
For Aged Care residents making and creating through art and crafts brings people together, it helps them to have a sense of belonging and to develop friendships. Mastering new or rekindling old skills by making and sharing with friends helps build self-esteem and pride.
Ingrid Dernee, Education Assistant – Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre will be working with Sylvania and Engadine residents in two art workshops on Thursday 17th March.
