Art Exhibition: Notice to the Startled Grass

An exhibition of recent works by Bundeena-based artist Lee Bethel. Known for her radical approach to the medium of paper, this exhibition demonstrates the artist’s command of materiality and the creation of intricate and eye-catching artworks.

Lee Bethel is an artist interested in the materiality of paper and how it can be cut, pricked, folded, or arranged to create an array of forms, shadows, and complex patterns. Her works often explore the relationship between object, place, and memory.

Lee teaches drawing, mixed media, painting and children’s classes at Hazelhurst Arts Centre and Lee will be hosting a free workshop for Moran Sylvania residents on 8th October 2025 as part of the Moran arts program.

The exhibition is open to the public from 19 Sep to 17 Nov 2025, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm daily with free entry.

The Moran Gallery in collaboration with Hazelhurst Arts Centre and Moran Arts Foundation, presents a series of exhibitions that aim to enrich the day to day life of Moran Aged Care residents; their families and the community.  The Gallery showcases Australia’s emerging and established artists allowing residents and visitors to experience first-hand the range of diversity of Australian art.

The Moran Aged Care, lifestyle and leisure programs encourage residents to explore their creativity through workshops conducted by the artists on display. The Moran Health Care Group is also a major supporter of Hazelhurst Arts Centre as a Principal Partner supporting active arts programs for the community.
