Moran Stockton residents and staff hold close ties to the local community and when the opportunity to team up with a local Motorcycle Club came along, they jumped at the opportunity.

Residents of the Moran Aged Care Home had the opportunity to gear up and take a spin around Stockton’s beautiful waterfront on the back of a Harley Davidson, a trike or a red open top Mustang.  The event was supported by the Coalfields Chapter of the American Motorcycle Club (AMC), a social, non-profit motorcycle club based in the Hunter Region of NSW, whose members ride Harley-Davidsons and frequently host charity rides and community events.

“We had a large number of very excited residents who expressed an interest in taking a spin around Stockton, it was a bucket list activity that our team were so happy to see fulfilled for them. We are very thankful to everyone who made the day possible” said General Manager Julie Henderson

The event is one that residents and staff will be talking about for a long time.  As one resident commented “It was great to feel the wind in my hair again after all these years!”  The joy on their faces said it all.

Residents at Moran Stockton help the Moran team to put together a calendar of lifestyle activities each month full of things they like to do, from walks along the waterfront to ping pong and pub lunches.  It is part of a program of continuous improvement to the services offered by a close knit team who are always open to ideas and further innovation.
