Art Exhibition: Romance, Whimsy & Bloom

Artist Ginger Jingzhe Li has captured the hearts of Moran Gallery visitors and Moran Sylvania residents with her colourful and sometimes playful exhibition Romance, Whimsy & Bloom.  The exhibition draws a parallel between the vitality of women and the growth of plants, suggesting that just as flowers draw sustenance from their environment to bloom, women thrive through self-exploration and engagement with the world, blossoming brilliantly while radiating love, care and beauty.

At the opening of the exhibition, in celebration of Chinese New Year, Ginger presented Moran Sylvania General Manager Marlena Dickinson with an artwork reflecting the 2026 Year of the Horse, in bold and fiery colours.

Moran Sylvania residents will be treated to a hands-on workshop in paper flower making when Ginger returns to the Gallery in March.

Ginger Jingzhe Li is a Carss Park-based multimedia artist whose practice spans painting, paper cutting, etching, sculpture and ceramics, often blending traditional Chinese motifs with a contemporary still life sensibility. Her recent work explores botanical subjects with a focus on colour and form, and she is also an active curator and publisher with exhibitions and publications across Australia and China.

The exhibition is open to the public until 19 May 2026, Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm daily with free entry.

The Moran Gallery in collaboration with Hazelhurst Arts Centre and Moran Arts Foundation, presents a series of exhibitions that aim to enrich the day to day life of Moran Aged Care residents; their families and the community.  The Gallery showcases Australia’s emerging and established artists allowing residents and visitors to experience first-hand the range of diversity of Australian art.

The Moran Aged Care, lifestyle and leisure programs encourage residents to explore their creativity through workshops conducted by the artists on display. The Moran Health Care Group is also a major supporter of Hazelhurst Arts Centre as a Principal Partner supporting active arts programs for the community.
