Excellence In Aged Care

Moran Engadine staff member Simone Black was presented with an award for Excellence in Aged Care by the Lions Club of Caringbah at a recent awards night at Cronulla Sutherland Leagues Club.

Simone was nominated for this award by the Directors of Moran Health Care Group.  Simone has been employed in the Aged Care industry for 10 years with the last three years working as a Cert 3, AIN at Moran Engadine.   She has a deep passion for looking after the aged and a special understanding for caring for those suffering with dementia.   Simone was particularly recognised for her person centred approach to care by her residents, their families and her team.

Said Simone, “I always remember that those in my care are people first, they have had wonderfully, rich and fulfilling lives, families who love them and have contributed to their communities – their diagnosis of dementia is secondary to all of that”.

Simone loves to see her residents well cared for and families often come to her for support and guidance.  She has received many correspondences and compliments from grateful family members and residents.

Said Jennifer Dempsey, Director Operations, Moran Health Care Group – “we were all very proud to be celebrating and recognising Simone’s dedication to excellence in aged care at the awards night.   Simone was supported by her team on the night and was a well deserved recipient of this award”.
